Connection between smoking and prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is a type of cancer that basically affects prostate gland. Prostate gland is a gland that is a part of male reproductive system. When one cell is affected, then this cancer spread from the prostate gland to the other parts of the body like bones and lymph nodes. Prostate cancer is associated with the different problems including erectile dysfunction, sexual intercourse, pain and difficulty during urination. Researchers have shown that there is a link between the smoking and prostate glands. Although smoking is not responsible in causing prostate cancer yet it is involved in making the conditions worse. Furthermore, smoking is also responsible in magnifying the side effects of the cancer treatments such as gastrointestinal disorders and diarrhea.

Connection between smoking and prostate cancerWhen an individual having prostate cancer smokes, it gives a fertile environment for these cancerous cells to grow, multiply, and spread rapidly in the body. Smoking is involved in affecting the genes and causing mutation. Smoking is basically a source of cadmium that is basically a metal that reacts with the zinc in prostate gland and causes cancer. Smoking is also involved in creating an imbalance in the level of hormone. Smoking increases the androgen level and making the condition worse for the individual.
